Volunteer Opportunities

Via Services utilizes the talents and personal expertise of volunteers in a number of various disciplines. Each year we rely on the efforts of commercial artists and graphic designers, photographers, carpenters, chefs, computer experts, marketing professionals, accountants and many other skilled individuals to provide services we could otherwise not afford. One of the ways to truly bond with our community is through the volunteer opportunities we provide. There are corporate team building experiences by volunteering with your coworkers, educational experiences by qualifying for a student internship and the general personal reward you experience by giving of your individual free time and expertise.

Corporate/Group Opportunities

The heart and sweat of the many group volunteers that have worked selflessly to help our programs can be seen everywhere throughout our programs. Coming together as a team with co-workers or with fellow community service members, can be a bonding and rewarding experience. Via Services has hosted corporate and community groups, like Boston Scientific, Timberland and Morgan Stanley, at Via West to help with preparing the facility for summer and winter sessions or to volunteer directly with the children and adults er serve by organizing special events. Contact our Advancement Office at 408-243-7861, if you are interested in bringing a group to Via West.

Student Internship Opportunities

Via Services provides internship opportunities for students interested in working with individuals with disabilities and special needs. Our programs provide great opportunities to get “hands on” experience. Via works with the Arrupe Community Parnters at Santa Clara University, offering students volunteer opportunities in our First Step Early Intervention Program. They work along side our early childhood educators in Via’s early intervention classes. Students from various specialties like nursing, special education, adaptive physical education, and human services volunteer their time at Via West.
