Matt is the Executive Director of Via Services. He is responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of Via including the Via West and First Step programs, advancement, administration, and strategic direction. He joined Via in 2019 and brings more than 25 years of experience in marketing, business development, fundraising, and non-profit leadership to the organization.
Matt earned his B.A. in political science from San Jose State University. As the father of a child with developmental disabilities, he has been a part of the special needs community for the past 20 years.
Matt served on the Board of Directors for Via Services from 2009-2015. He is also a longtime member of the Rotary Club of San Jose where he served on the committee that conceived, designed, fund raised, and built the Rotary PlayGarden – a $6 million universally accessible playground in San Jose’s Guadalupe Riverpark where people of all abilities can play side by side. Most recently, he was the Executive Director of Cristo Rey San Jose Work Study, Inc., an internship program for low-income, underserved high school students in which students work one day per week in Silicon Valley companies. There, he developed partnerships with more than 90 companies and brought in $3.5 million in annual revenue.

Director, Via West Campus
Bill is responsible for overseeing all of the programming at Via West Campus, including Via West and Altitude. He joined Via in June of 2021.
Bill earned his B.A. in psychology from State University of New York at Binghamton. He also has extensive experience with camping programs and writing individualized support plans, and he volunteers as a Standards Visitor and Standards Instructor for the American Camping Association.
Prior to Via, Bill spent 15 years working as the Program Manager, Associate Director, Director, and Vice President for camps that serve people with disabilities in Maryland. From 2012-2018, he served as the Chair for the Youth Camp Safety Advisory Council, a state run council that advises Maryland’s Department of Health regarding safety issues in youth camping.Get In Touch
Director, First Step
Jennifer oversees our clinics’ speech and occupational therapy program as well as Via’s Early Start assessment team . She originally worked in the First Step program from 2003-2007 and returned in 2017 as a speech-language pathologist before assuming her current role of Director in 2019.
Jennifer received her B.A. and M.A. in communicative disorders at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She has received training in PROMPT, PECS Level I, Talk Tools courses, and Hanen and Social Thinking courses.
Jennifer has 15 years of experience working with children and their families with a variety of communication needs in private clinics, preschools, early intervention programs, school district contracts, and outpatient programs. She has also earned 2 consecutive ASHA Awards for Continuing Education.Get In Touch
Associate Director, Advancement
Rhonda is a social impact professional who joined Via as the Associate Director of Advancement in 2021. She is responsible for Via’s fund development including: online giving, donor stewardship, legacy planning, event management, volunteer recruitment, and more.
Rhonda combines a background in television and print media with a passion for philanthropy to promote Via’s mission. She holds two degrees from the University of San Diego in both Political Science and Communications with a focus on mass media studies.
Most recently, she served as the Associate Director of Advancement for Sacred Heart Nativity Schools where her skills helped the organization exceed all fundraising goals for special events. She is a board member for National Charity League and serves as Vice President of Chapter Engagement and Inclusion.Get in Touch
Julie is the Controller for Via Services and is responsible for all things finance and accounting related. She joined Via in October 2020 after working at Via’s outsourced nonprofit accounting firm, FASS (Financial Administrative Support Services), for 7 years. Via was Julie’s client at FASS for 2 years prior to her joining the organization full-time.
Julie attended California State Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo where she obtained her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Psychology. Julie holds a Certified Public Accountant license from the State of California, and is a member of the California Society of CPA’s.
Prior to doing nonprofit accounting, Julie was a financial statement auditor who worked at local, regional, and national CPA firms. Julie brings more than 15 years of accounting, finance, and nonprofit business best practice experience to Via.
While at FASS, Julie worked with many nonprofit clients in a variety of sectors including social services, agriculture, fair housing, military support, and private foundations. Julie currently serves on the board of directors for Operation: Care & Comfort.Get In Touch
Director of Human Resources
Joan is the Director of Human Resources for Via Services. She joined Via’s leadership team in 2020 to provide expertise in the areas of talent acquisition, organizational development, employee engagement, and HR operations.
Joan earned her B.S. in Recreation Administration from CSU, Chico. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR-HRCI) and is certified in Strategic Talent Acquisition (STA-HCI).
Via Services’ mission of helping people achieve self-sufficiency and lead richer lives resonates deeply for Joan. Prior to her 15+ year career in Human Resources, she was a camp director and a recreation leader, working with children and adults with disabilities in under served communities. Now that she is no longer in direct care, she is passionate about supporting those that are. Most recently, Joan was the Talent Acquisition Manager at AbilityPath in San Mateo County. She also recruited for high tech companies here in Silicon Valley.Get In Touch
